I need help explaining how to solve sin(5x-pi/4) = -1
this is what I have gotten but I think I am wrong:
sin(5x) = -1 – pi/4
sin(5x)= -(4pi/4) – (pi/4)
sin(5x) = -(5pi/4)
5x = sin^-1 (-5pi/4) —> -(-sqrt2/2)
5x = sqrt2/2
x = (sqrt2/2)/5
x = (sqrt2/10) sin 5 ? 4 = ?1 We know that if sin ? = ?1 then ? lies in third quadrant ? = 2 ? ; = 1,2,3, ? .. Hence , the general solutions is
5 ? = ? =2 ? 4
2 = , , , ? ? . The way to approach this… View the full answer
